An Odd Couple of Couples

I wouldn’t believe this picture if I didn’t read the story myself. (Check our the story here)
A set of twin orangutans, Nia and Irma, and twin tigers, Dema and Manis, that were abandoned at birth have become inseparable playmates in Cisarua, Indonesia.
In nature these two creatures would never meet, and unfortunately instinct will kick in sooner or later, but wow what a testament to the ability to be friendly no matter where one comes from or what one looks like.
I say these infants have the right idea. Their innocence allows them to play sleep and eat near one another without a quarrel. Playful ‘banter’ sure, but not a hint of violence.
I encourage you to take note of these cuddly creatures and try to step out and be friendly toward someone unexpected today, or even all week. See what that does for your own attitude, and what an influence you can have on the people around you.

Have you ever smelled a puppy?
Silly question I know, and if you haven’t go smell a clean baby. (Be sure and ask the parents first ;)
Now why would I ask such a silly question? Well my sister and her husband recently adopted two puppies and I got meet them, and just to smell them brought a smile to my face and a joy to my heart. Yes I know this is silly, but it’s true.
Why do you think such a silly smell would bring a smile to your face? This is what came to my mind when I thought about this question. Maybe that’s what heaven smells like. Huh…? Think about it. New babies and New puppies (when clean) smell fresh. So close to their time of creation, untainted by the world or puberty (hehehehe)
I don’t know what heaven truly smells like, but if it’s anything like puppies that will be one of many reasons to be on the reservation list. J

The Wisdom of Faith and Maizy

Some times what seems to be a small test of will, like going up and down stairs for the first time, brings the greatest joy.
Take the time to celebrate the tiny triumphs so you know how you were able to accomplish the big victories.

Dogs love their friends and bite their enemies, quite unlike people, who are incapable of pure love and always have to mix love and hate.

The Wisdom of Faith and Maizy vol.2

Get excited!
Life is full of simple pleasures, and for us to enjoy our world and our lives we need to hold these moments as little treasures.
To take a walk or go outside is a chance to explore and be amazed by what surrounds us.
To eat is an amazing show of provision. The worries of the day may be stacking up but the time to eat is a time to give thanks and cherish those you are with.

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

The Wisdom of Faith and Maizy

As you might have guessed from previous postings, I’m a dog person. Currently I’m a stay at home wife as I look for a new job, but there have been two dogs to keep me company Faith and Maizy. And in their company comes a unique observation of the lives they lead. So I hope to share some of their loving inspiration with you.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.

In the Headlines vol. 4

January 17, 2007India
A rampaging leopard attacks a resident of the Indian city of Nashik in Maharashtra state. Panicked city dwellers beat the animal with sticks and iron bars while chasing it from populated areas, inflicting wounds that most likely caused the animal's death soon after it was captured by forest guards. The attack is just another in a series of conflicts between humans and the big cats, which are protected in India, as population growth cuts into the animals' natural habitat. In Maharashtra alone, marauding leopards have killed 22 people in the past year, according to BBC News.

When I read this article an odd thought popped into my head; how selfish are we? Our human nature has a wanting for the things that are bigger and better causing us to spread out and encroach on the world we live in. It almost brings truth a line from ‘The Matrix’, we are a virus, destroying the world around us until there’s nothing left.

Our human nature has a wanting for the things that are bigger and better causing us to spread out and encroach on the world we live in. It almost brings truth a line from ‘The Matrix’, we are a virus, destroying the world around us until there’s nothing left.
In thinking about this, I can’t come up with a solution or even see how we can combat our selfish tendencies. Here is an odd balance between discoveries and technologic advances, and the animals, plants, and weather patterns that are affected by our growth.
Is conservation enough? Is there more we can do? Will this world survive us?
Amazing questions whose answers are left to a higher power, but that doesn’t mean there is nothing for us to do.
